I quickly started the car and sped off towards the airport. Every shadow seemed threatening, every light reflecting in my rearview mirror an enemy. There was no room for mistakes.

As I approached the cargo gate, it was exactly 1:50 am. I was early but there was no way I was going to risk being late. I parked my car in a dark corner and waited.

The cargo gate creaked open at exactly 2:00 am. A shadowy figure waved me in. I took a deep breath and drove in.

Once inside, I was directed to a sleek, black private jet. Its engines already purring, ready to take off. I got out of the car and handed the papers to the co-pilot.

As the jet took off, I could see the city lights of Larnaca fade away. I was leaving everything behind for these papers. The stakes were high and the danger, real.

The flight was smooth. I tried to catch some sleep but the adrenaline and fear kept me awake. I kept thinking about what would happen if I failed.

I arrived in Istanbul just as the sun was rising. A car was waiting for me. Mr. X was in the backseat. He greeted me with a nod.

We didn't speak much. He just said, "You did well. Now, it's my turn." His tone was serious and a bit ominous. I could only hope he knew what he was doing.

Mr. X took the papers and studied them. His face remained impassive but I could see a glint in his eyes. He knew the power these papers held.

He finally broke the silence. "These will change the world indeed," he murmured. I wondered if that change would be for the better.

We reached a secured compound where Mr. X handed over the papers to a team of specialists. He then turned to me and said, "You're free to go now."

I was free but at what cost? I had lost everything but I had also saved something. As I left, I realized that the world was on the brink of a major shift.

The sun was setting as I boarded a plane back home. I had done my part. The rest was in the hands of fate. The midnight escape had ended, but the real journey was just beginning.
