Ava was in PE class, trying to concentrate on the game, but she kept being distracted by Mikey's jokes. Every time he cracked one, she found herself laughing along.

Their PE semester ended, and Ava found herself missing Mikey's jokes. She missed his laughter, his energy, and how he made every class interesting.

Ava decided to ask Mikey out through her friend, Cailyn. But when Cailyn approached Mikey, he gave an unclear response and rushed off.

Ava took Mikey's response as rejection. It stung, but she tried to shake it off. The absence of Mikey's presence in her life was starting to affect her.

Feeling lonely, Ava accepted Emily's offer to date, even though her feelings for Mikey still lingered. Emily was deeply in love, but Ava was still hoping for Mikey.

A month went by, and Ava decided to try again with Mikey. She discovered that they both played the French horn, and saw it as a chance to connect.

While still dating Emily, Ava slipped a note into Mikey's French horn case. She waited anxiously for a response, but a day went by with no word from Mikey.

Finally, Ava found a note in her French horn case from Mikey. It read: 'I'm glad to hear somebody likes me besides Kylee. If you want it simple, yes. Also, you have beautiful handwriting.'

Ava was overjoyed. Mikey had said yes! She felt a rush of happiness, but also a twinge of guilt. She had to break up with Emily.

Emily was heartbroken, but she understood. Ava's heart had always been with Mikey. They parted on good terms, but Ava couldn't help feeling a little guilty.

As Ava and Mikey sat together, playing their French horns, Ava felt a sense of contentment. Mikey turned to her, his smile bright and genuine.

It took a while, but Ava and Mikey eventually got together. Their love story was a melody, a serenade played on French horns, filled with laughter, heartbreak, and ultimately, love.
